Type of climbing available: Trad, bouldering
General: Thre focus of climbing in the West Penwith area. THE classic Cornish cliff with something to please everyone. Multi-pitch routes, mostly starting well above the sea. Generous and accessible, this crag is often a major sun trap whist just a few hundred yards away the rest of Cornwall can be shrouded in mist.
A complex cliff, that in the guide is seperated into 5 sections over its 300 metre length.
A "Site of Special Scientific Interest" owned by the National Trust.
History: "There was a driving mist, through which we ahd glimpses of pale ghosts that might have been rocks and as it lifted in a gust of wind, towers of granite raised their heads and part of a jagged crest showed up and then vanished as the curtain fell." (A recollection by AW Andrews of his first visit to Bosigran in 1902)
A very long and interesting history, too long to list here.
Ethics: No bolts, no chipping.
Rest Day Activities: Surfing, swimming, coasteering. Tourist stuff.
Access Issues:
Weather: Generally even better than the rest of Cornwall.
